Market haul (early markets at Kawana due to no market this weekend). Lots of green leafy vegetables - a very large part of our diet (but always eaten cooked to aid digestion). We normally harvest a lot from our own garden but recently lost a lot due to blue moth so have had to buy till we can regrow it. Organic stone fruit - what's summer without them?! The season for organic is quite short we make the most if it. The boys where excited to see plums in the selection! And Master 5 desperately wanted mangoes so we got a bag for Xmas day. Smoothie bananas - fraction of the price, great for baking also as egg replacement if you are egg free. Bananas cause some issues here so its mainly me who uses them in my smoothies. Kale - kinda obsessed with kale chips in our house especially with lots of garlic. Yum! Brussel sprouts - yep they have become a staple in our house. I roast then with salt & garlic & they are delicious. Cabbage- for sauerkraut, cabbage noodles, stir fries etc. great for bulking up mince dishes. Carrots- juicing & dutch. I buy juicing because they are cheaper and I find them sweeter. Cucumbers- we eat a lot of these, without the skin once again to aid digestion. If you have no tummy issues leave the skin on. Cauliflowers - one to roast for a salad & the other to make mash with leek. Raw local honey - pantry staple. My chosen sweetener other than coconut nectar - we don't use it very often so lasts quite a while. Eating local honey is also great for those who suffer seasonal allergies. #eatlocal #organic #sprayfree #jerf #farmersmarkets #feedingtwogrowingboys
